Cleator Moor bells will be removed from the tower early in April, following the closure of the church.

There will be ringing for all who would like to come on Sat 18th, 2-4pm . The bells are an easy-going, short draught, heavy eight (21cwt) with a most glorious sound. A real joy to ring!

There will also be ringing for the closure service the next day, Sunday 19th, from 9:15 to 10 am. At the service there will be a sort of handover, of a symbolic rope and the peal boards, representing the gift of bells to representatives from St Bridget's, Moresby, who will be having a newly cast light 8 installed in due course.

All ringers are welcome, but it would be helpful for Chris de Cordova to know how many to expect.

There will be no ringing at Blackburn Cathedral after Sunday 26th for the next couple of weeks.

The clappers from the front nine bells are with John Taylor & Co. for the nylon bushes to be replaced. Subject to work progressing as planned, we anticipate holding the next weekly practice on Thursday, March 16th.

Updates will be posted on the Cathedral Ringers’ Facebook page.
